Meet Jessica

Jessica Johnson is a passionate advocate for equity and justice with over a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector. During this time she has been many things: a deputy director; a program designer, creator, and director; a wellness and sustainability leader; a board member; a volunteer manager; a communications manager; an organizer; a trainer; a writer; an advisor; a facilitator; and a litigator.

As a licensed attorney, Jessica dedicated her legal career to assisting low-income Texans and survivors of interpersonal violence. In naming and disrupting unjust systems, Jessica advocates for change that helps enhance the lives of historically marginalized communities.  In addition to her legal and advocacy work, Jessica is a skilled facilitator, grant writer, and trainer who is passionate about building capacity and sustainability alongside grassroots organizations. Jessica’s love for facilitation comes from her fascination with deconstructing processes to decide what parts are needed and what parts are merely convention. She is a creative and an organizer grounded in the resourcefulness and determination of her foremothers. She is also a former Texas Rollergirl, an audiobook lover, and travel enthusiast. She currently serves on the board of Austin Justice Coalition. Jessica received her bachelors from the College of William and Mary and her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law.
