what we believe
Our Mission Statement
At Groundwork Co-Creative, we operationalize liberation by helping create and maintain organizational cultures that welcome growth and change.
Our Values
We are pro-Black.
We practice community care and principled disagreement.
We co-create: we are both experts and students and follow the lead of people with proximity to the issues.
We reject perfectionism.
We create, innovate, and iterate.
Our Why
Through our decades of work with organizations committed to social transformation, we’ve seen blockages that consistently prevent progress. While there’s often pressure to find the quick fix, at the heart of our approach lies a deep commitment to investigating root causes and facilitating inclusive processes that help uncover and shift limiting beliefs and behaviors. We see mechanisms and containers for consistent exploration, feedback, and principled disagreement as the building blocks for sustained organizational change and lovingly support organizations in internalizing this cultural shift.
Our Vision
We want to be part of a future where:
Organizations prioritize being part of social movements and address root causes of harm;
Organizations show their commitment to transformative justice principles: harm is taken seriously, prevention is normalized, and people are taken care of and feel that they belong; and
The people who make up our organizations feel deeply valued and able to bring their full selves to their work.
Who are our services for?
We work with organizations ready to take intentional action toward sustainable change.
